In our recent story on the $29.65 million sale of the Juan Manuel Fangio-driven Mercedes-Benz W196R at this past weekend’s Bonhams Goodwood auction, reader Tony pointed out this video of Fangio taking the wheel of the car once again for an exhibition race following the 1978 Australian Grand Prix. In the three-lap race, Fangio and the Mercedes competed against Jack Brabham in a Repco-Brabham BT19, Bob Jane in a Maserati 300S, and Bill Patterson in an unidentified Cooper.
